October 6th will mark Roatan Bruce's 7th Year on Roatan Radio!

Bruce...I know that several folks have mentioned that they miss you to me in conversation.  It is just that people here sometimes focus on the negatives and do not take the time to say something nice.  You are one of the best representatives for Roatan.  I loved the show and music...unless it trended to country or early 50's  (just a joke) but hearing your voice grounded me to the island and I loved running errands, listening to you and hearing the interviews.  I would email Ollie if you thought it would help.  that said...just do not let this place peck at you.  You and Lorin do so much to help and advance the amenities here.  Lorin and Fabian were one of the only businesses that supported our drive to help the police.  The Rotary does help but...not at the level that I saw with the gift certificate and use of the facilities at Soothe your Soul.  Doubt you listen to the "new" 101.1 but it is not really radio but some folks playing at being in to entertainment.  So chin up...you have many fans and admirers.

Bruce ... you will be missed.

As I am not on the island regularly, I always enjoyed listening to you and The Roatan Bruce
Show on line or whenever it was available.  It was my connection to the island and friends
there. Your programming was excellent. The Roatan Bruce Show was the only show on the WAVE
101.1 that I cared to tune into.  You will be missed. Thank you for the past 18 months. I
wish you the best in whatever your future pursuits are or where your path may lead.

Best regards,

Hey Bruce, I just found your station today.  :)  We love Roatan.
We have a condo down there.
It's great to hear your voice and information from our favorite place in the Caribbean!
I will spread the word about your program.
Have a great day,
Susie from Ellwood City PA

I'm so glad I listened in on Thursday (January 7th, 2010) to the Roatan Bruce Show,
since he did his official unofficial (or is it unofficial official) weather report. And accurate is an understatement!
When he said what the wind chill factor would be I thought "ya right".
But here it is....that report was spot on and it is chilly today on Roatan!!!
Thanks Bruce. I was able to plan my weekend accordingly...sitting in and sipping on hot buttered rum!
Shanti,
Angela Missaggia

Bruce,
Thanks for a great interview with Carnival cruises and what is happening in Roatan. We have been getting mixed info pro and con of crime and travel in Honduras so it is refreshing to get a better perspective.  Hope all is well.

My name is Freddy GabourelI'm from the beautiful Island Utila.
The only Radio Station I USED to listen to was Super 100 for years.
But I have discovered FM 101.1 THE WAVE!
I've been hooked ever since.  My Welding shop is full of your tunes, it makes for a pleasant work day.
Everyone that comes in listens and ask what station is that.
Even the air time between songs are filled with encouraging words for a cleaner and safe environment.
I like your style. Keep up the good work...Freddy Gabourel

Hi Bruce

I must congratulate you on your new website. Despite all the obstacles that
you face, you believe in what you do and have done a terrific job. I listened
to the interview with Kelcy last night. My mother all the way in England
was surfing and stumbled upon your website and listened to the interview I
did with you and said that it was very clear with the real player program.
Well done !

Mat’Harper

Dear Bruce,
I just wanted to let you know that in the 47 years that my wife and I have been a small part of the island, we all think that you are one of the better, if not the best, addition in a long while. I know it must be tough getting the backing you need to run your show, and that owners of the station will always be tight with their money and new transmitters will be few and far between, but we do hope you will hang in there and remain on the island for a long, long while to come.
Take care, and do hang in there!
All the best...dke

As was told to me by a close friend who had a conversation with Tony "The Toger" Lopez, three time World Boxing Champion.

"I have been interviewed by lots of people from around the world during my career. I would say that the interview with Roatan Bruce ranks up there in the top three in memory for me and I have been interviewed by some major people."

I just saw your website. I was compelled to write you, because I was blown away by your almost a full hour INTERVIEW WITH PRESIDENT MADURO! WOW! I have never really listened to Honduran politics before because it seemed like a lost cause of technical talk and friendship side playing. He was a good president! I wish he could be re-elected. Very wise man, and a true leader for his own definition of what a leader is. That's what Central America needs, more smart selfless leaders who aim for improvement of the overall conditions. The world needs more people like him, he speaks it as it is with true un biastness. Next time you talk to him, encourage him to run again Bruce. I'm glad I found your website. I'm going to stay tuned. excellent work, keep it up.

Thank you for the aid in spreading the word. I am up to 3000 views, and almost 800 votes.

All the best!Aaron

Bruce:
I have read the article and feel it is a satisfactory transcription of my interview as I recall it. Thanks for the opportunity to address myself to the Islanders on these issues, and through your participation in other media like “Honduras This Week,” to other Hondurans and people from other countries.

I wish you much success with your program!
Sincerely,
Ricardo Maduro

Listening to the streaming 4/30 show and works great. Thanks for putting it up and keep up the good work!

Hi Bruce,
I'm newly registered with the Roatan group and just had the opportunity to listen to the mayor and chief of police interview on your show and I wanted to say that they were wonderful interviews. Our family is going to Roatan in the middle of April to look at potential property and learning more about the long term vision from both of these individuals makes it more comfortable for people like us interested in Roatan. Keep up the great work! Paul R.

Bruce,
The interview with President Ricardo Maduro for Honduras This Week is terrific.....great work! Maduro sounds like a really neat man: intelligent, well-spoken, thoughtful, etc. Thank you for this very much!

Dear HTW:

As a regular on-line reader of your newspaper, the quality of the February 25th edition compels me to comment. I'm a resident of New England, USA and soon-to-be retiree to Roatan. I read all sections of the newspaper, but have been particularly interested in the information delivered in the Travel & Tourism section. The latest edition is simply terrific. First, Don Pearly's article regarding squatters and particularly the challenges now facing developers on Roatan was first-rate. He wrote a well thought out, easy to understand, essay that delivered a good deal of real information, as well as authoritative analysis. By writing about specific development obstacles and their damaging results, rather than unsubstantiated opinion, the piece was elevated to a position of the most worthy commentary journalism.

In the same issue, it was gratifying to read Bruce Starr's news coverage of the new Canaturh board of directors. The well-reported information here is that planning for tourism development is in high-gear, thoughtful of how Roatan may expand on the international tourism stage. From what was reported in the article, someday soon, we may actually expect to see Roatan compete with other Caribbean islands for the attention of the quality world-wide tourism sector. Recognizing that the product, the most beautiful island in the Caribbean, just needs to be exposed to the right international audience. This will benefit all.

HTW is getting better and better. Keep up the great work!

All the best,

Congratulations, Bruce…this is wonderful news!

Language is an inherent part of a culture, crucial to its survival. It is the root of one’s individuality; our personality and identity. It is how we see and think about ourselves, and know who we are. It’s vital that we all do everything we can to help this island preserve its language. Good for you!

Comments about Hurricane Felix Coverage from The Weather Channel and 106.5 FM
Dear Bruce,

We are writing to express our sincere appreciation for your important contribution to the community during the days of uncertainty and fear for Hurricane Felix.

In doing so we feel we are interpreting the spirit of many other grateful listeners of your RoatanBruce show.
Your professionalism and communication skills conveyed much more than updated details on the development of the storm: it conveyed the reassurance and comfort to know that someone is there for all of us to give information and guidance.

We wish we had Roatan Bruce back in 1998, by Hurricane Mitch!!
Keep up the wonderful job.
